Board of Directors

Our board of passionate stewards works diligently to guide the vision of The Trail Foundation and to protect and enhance the Trail at Lady Bird Lake.

+ Susan Plettman Rankin
TTF Executive Director
Susan Rankin has been running at the Trail for 25 years. She loves to run at the Trail while visiting with her running friends in the early mornings. A botanist, Susan pauses their runs to look at the plants that are in bloom.

+ Bill Kerr, TTF President
Kelly Hart and Hallman
Bill Kerr is a lawyer and partner in the Austin office of Kelly, Hart & Hallman LLP.  Bill moved to Austin from Midland in 2005 and loves the contrasting sights of the Trail, most particularly the trees.

+ Colin Wallis, TTF Vice President
Lance Armstrong Foundation
Colin Wallis finds new and creative ways to raise funds for the fight against cancer with the Lance Armstrong Foundation. When he’s not on the Trail or traveling for work, you can usually find him relaxing behind the diving board at Barton Springs.

+ Peter Huff, TTF Secretary
Blue Sage Capital
Peter Huff is the co-founder of an Austin-based private equity fund named Blue Sage Capital.  A former collegiate track and cross country runner, Peter likes to run on the Trail pushing his kids in a jogger at a much slower pace.

+ Jack Collins, TTF Treasurer
Frost Bank
Jack Collins is a retired banker and has been using the Trail for 32 years. In addition to spending a lot of time on the Trail he enjoys traveling, visiting his six grandchildren in Florida and attending University of Texas sporting events.

+ Dave Andreas
Silicon Laboratories
Dave Andreas is an Engineering Director at Silicon Labs a local Austin semiconductor company located on Cesar Chavez just off the Trail.  His bike route to work takes him on the Trail and he uses the Trail as a place to train for annual backpacking trips.

+ Corey Blahuta

Corey Blahuta is the Managing Director for vcfo’s Austin office.  He and his wife have two active kids and you can find one or more members of the Blahuta clan on the Trail almost every day of the week.\

+ Bill Curra, P.E.
Blue Ocean Energy
Bill Curra splits time between Austin and Yemen (wcurra.blogspot.com) where he works as an engineer for Kellogg, Brown & Root.  Much of his effort as a board member is focused on promoting the Riverside Boardwalk.

+Lynn Currie
Mercury Mambo
Lynn Currie is one of the managing partners of Mercury Mambo, an Austin based  Hispanic Experiential Marketing, Sales Promotions, and Branding Agency. One of her favorite places in Austin is the Trail. She not only enjoys running on it, but it also enhances her "urban sherpa" experiences by providing her one of the best ways on the planet to people-power it to Whole Foods for a little shopping or take a nighttime walk downtown to hear live music.

+Mike Elhaj
SimplePower
Mike Elhaj is the CMO of SimplePower, a Texas retail electric provider. Mike has been an Austinite for 20 years and has seen the city and trail go through significant growth. As an avid runner and user of the Trail, he is passionate about protecting it and making sure that over time it continues to be a beautiful place for all of Austin to enjoy and connect with nature.

Asher Flynn, Realtors
Asher Flynn is the Owner and Broker of Asher Flynn, REALTORS®.   For Asher, the Trail is a window to the vibrancy of Austin, with its eclectic and lively combination of people, places, and scenes.  Asher enjoys running and walking the Trail with friends and family and feels fortunate to have such a lovely retreat located in the heart of our town. 

+ Lisa E. Huddleson
LEH Philanthropy Advisors
Lisa Huddleson is the Founder & CEO of LEH Philanthropy Advisors. Lisa is an active leader in community efforts all over Austin and enjoys walking the Trail with her friends and yellow Lab, Haylee. 

+Jon Levy
PlainsCapital Bank
Jon Levy is President of PlainsCapital Bank-Westlake.   When Jon and his wife, Michelle, are not running on the trail, they enjoy water skiing and golf.  Jon is an avid marathoner and dedicates much of his free time to non-profit endeavors.

+ John Loudamy
Demand Media
John Loudamy helps manage professional services for a privately held technology company.  For John, the Trail is a family affair where you'll often find the entire Loudamy crew logging miles on Saturday morning.

+ Christopher Kennedy
LCRA
Christopher Kennedy is people manager at LCRA.  He enjoys the Trail because of the connection to the Highland Lakes.  You'll have to get up early to catch him because he likes to be the first person to hear the rooster crowing near the Texas Rowing dock.

+ Brian Ott
TBG Partners
Brian Ott is the managing principal for TBG Partners Austin, a landscape architecture and planning firm.  His best days involve pushing his son around on the Trail, feeding the ducks near Lou Neff Point and enjoying Butler Park and Zilker Park along the way.

+Sarah Russ
Communications Consultant
Sarah  has been running the Trail for more than 25 years.  She is a communications consultant and has worked previously for PR agencies, corporations and in Texas politics.

Stephanie Shoemaker
Maxwell Locke & Ritter, LLP
Stephanie Shoemaker is an audit associate with Maxwell Locke & Ritter LLP, the largest locally-owned CPA firm in Austin.  When not auditing local nonprofits, you can find Stephanie on the Trail with her dog at Auditorium Shores or meeting friends to run, creating a quintessential Austin “salon” with the skyline, nature and fellow citizens providing a dramatic and inspiring setting

+ Jim Sud
Whole Foods Market
Jim Sud is the Executive Vice-President of Growth & Business Development for Whole Foods Market.  A long-time runner, although Jim travels regularly, when in Austin, you’ll find him on the trail most days in the early morning.

+ Margot Thomas
Community Activist
Margot Thomas moved to Austin in 1976, and since then, more days than not, has been on or near the Trail.

+Jesse Weiss
Greenberg Traurig
Jesse Weiss has been stumbling around the Trail since he was a small child, and has proudly watched it develop into one of Austin's prized features.
